Welcome to

Organika Farms

Joining hands with the local farmers

“Organika Farms was founded by three professionals with one common passion – their love for nature and all things natural. Padma Iyer Kaul a career civil servant, Divya Kaul an educationist and Anuraag Kaul an Insurance Professional. Their diverse professional backgrounds make for a vibrant organization and have helped create the brand ‘Organika’ which stands for integrity and creating value for the consumer through pure, natural food at reasonable prices. While Padma and Divya have committed themselves full time to ‘Organika’, Anuraag has chosen to be the friend, philosopher and guide to this initiative”

What is growing on the Farm ?

We are farmers at heart so we experiment with everything! The farm grows cereals, spices, pulses, oilseeds, fruits and sugarcane. We also grow timber and fodder and attempt to be self-sufficient. The farm grows pure organic food based on a mixed cropping pattern. Using green manuring, ecological diversity, crop rotation and several traditional farming practices, the farm is constantly experimenting with diverse crops. These have helped us understand the soil, climate and productivity possibilities on a sustainable commercial basis. As we journey towards turning the farm into a model unit, the local farmers are turning to organic farming slowly but steadily. The farm is also surrounding itself with trees – medicinal, timber yielding, ornamental, fruit bearing and fodder trees. Jamun, anar, Phalsa, Amaltas, Gulmohar, Sehjan………..you name it and we will plant it! The farm products presently sell under the brand name of ‘Organika’.

Why choose Organika

Organika Farms

At Organika we are farmers at heart. With an operational farm, in Pach-Hara Mathura district we work with the soil and put to practice all that we preach!

History

Organika Farms started as a post retirement dream of the founders – a civil servant (Padma Iyer Kaul), an education professional (Divya Kaul) and an insurance professional (Anuraag Kaul).  Joined by their common passion for being close to nature, they decided to put to good use the passion of Padma Iyer Kaul for growing chemical free organic food and flowers in the government residences they lived in for 25 years!

They started Organika Farms in June 2017, on a 4-acre plot leased in Adhoi village, District Ambala, to start growing organic food and test waters before taking the final plunge. Every weekend one of them would head for Ambala and spend two days experimenting with soil, seeds and cows. They joined the organic farming community to understand the farming methods and the whole growing process. These joyful weekends led them to acquire a 10 acre plot in village Pach-Hara Mathura District.

Despite no chemical fertilizers or pesticides they grew everything. Nature was kind and bountiful and very forgiving of all their mistakes (well, not always as they lost a whole crop of sesame to caterpillars!). However very soon what started as a weekend venture took over their entire life. They realized that growing organic and healthy food could not be a part-time activity. Divya resigned first from her teaching career. Soon Padma an Additional Secretary rank officer with the Department of Telecom resigned 6 years before her retirement to turn full time organic farmer.
